The African Studies Centre Leiden will host a conference on Friday 6 June to mark the 50th anniversary of the Organisation of the African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (OACPS). The conference will be organised by the Collaborative Research Group Governance, Entrepreneurship, and Inclusive Development. More details about the programme will follow in the near future.

Call for papers

The organisers of the conference invite paper presentation proposals from scholars, diplomats, and business practitioners who are interested in the evolution, operations, and activities of the OACPS  in the last fifty years. Proposals relating to the exploration of past and present African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) - European Economic Community (EEC) Agreements and the political economy of North-South relations are also welcome. For those who intend to present papers, we request abstracts of not more than 1500 words (excluding references).

Deadline

The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 6 May 2025.
