Update: The strike on 10 June in Amsterdam has been cancelled due to the NS train strike.

The government has collapsed – now it’s time for the higher education cuts to meet the same fate. On 10 June, students and staff from universities throughout the Netherlands will go on strike against the cuts to higher education. They will gather at Dam Square in Amsterdam for the largest lecture ever.

Come and make education the key issue during this caretaker cabinet and the upcoming elections. Amnesty International, PsychInActie and the student union, among others, will give lectures.

  • 12:00 - 12:30 – Arrival & registration of strikers
  • 12:30 - 13:15 – Lecture block 1
  • 13:15 - 13:45 – Music & food
  • 13:45 - 14:30 – Lecture block 2

The Executive Board and deans support the initiative but have decided that the university will remain open. Read what the strike means for staff and students.

Organisers: FNV, AOB, LSVB and WOinActie.
