RegisterAI in education is evolving rapidly — but what does the research say? During the very first meeting of the new AI in Education Special Interest Group (AIED SIG), we look beyond the hype and explore concrete, safe applications you can start using right away in your own teaching practice.
What can you expect?
Scientific insights that matter
Mario de Jonge (ICLON) will walk you through the article “Looking beyond the hype: Understanding the effects of AI on Learning.” Discover the ways GenAI can influence student learning and what that means for designing education.
Live demo: Getting started with LUCA
Julian van der Kraats (ISSC) will demonstrate how LUCA works: Leiden University’s secure, protected chatbot platform where instructors can experiment with generative AI. See how easy it is to test your own scenarios, design didactic applications, and try out new ideas.
Target group: all staff and students.
Language: Dutch and English
