Digital security concerns us all. The Night of Digital Security ('Nacht van de Digitale Veiligheid' in Dutch) brings together experts from a range of disciplines to explore the latest developments, emerging threats, and potential solutions in the field of cybersecurity. This event presents a valuable opportunity to gain insights from leading professionals in the areas of Organisations, Human, Society and Technology. With distinguished speakers from academia, government, and industry, the evening offers a comprehensive and thought-provoking perspective on digital security.
The programme will cover topics in the four core areas: Organisations, Human, Society and Technology. Each session will be delivered by knowledgeable speakers who will share their expertise and professional experiences. This event will be mainly held in Dutch.
Keynote
Willemijn Aerdts, Minister for the Digital Economy and Sovereignty, will deliver the keynote address at the Nacht van de digitale veiligheid on 26 May (in Dutch). In her presentation, she will guide the audience through today’s most pressing digital challenges: how can the Netherlands strengthen its digital sovereignty? What steps are needed to enhance autonomy and resilience? And what are her plans for the period ahead?

This event is intended for anyone with an interest in digital security and emerging threats. Whether you are a professional in the field, a student, a policymaker, a prospective student of the Cybersecurity & Cybercrime programme, or simply curious about cybersecurity, this evening offers valuable insights for a diverse audience.
This event will be held in Dutch. There are four sessions in English: Securing Software: The Weaknesses in the Global Software Ecosystem and How to Fix Them by Olga Gadyatskaya, Surviving Digital Chaos by Lies de Wit, 'Odido: a crisis communication game by Cristiana del Real and Oplichtingstrucs en romance scams. Hoe werken ze en hoe herken je ze? by Tommy van Steen.

Due to the amount of people we are expecting and the space available in the plenary room, we have added the possibility to watch the opening via livestream in a different room.
