Who are we?
We are a team of four comprising the Career Counselors Tanja Bos (PhD), Ilse Huijskens (PhD) and two student assistants. As part of Student Support Services at the University Leiden, Tanja and Ilse are responsible for Science Career Service at the Science faculty.
Tanja started her career as biomedical scientist. After finishing her PhD, she worked for several years as a recruiter in the pharmaceutical, biotechnological and chemical industry.
Ilse has a background in Biotechnology and deferred her PhD in Canada. She continued as a postdoctoral researcher at the LACDR institute within this Science faculty and subsequently changed her career path towards recruitment and career consultation.
The numerous years of experience that Tanja and Ilse acquired as researcher and recruiter sets the foundation for their support to students with their choices in study direction and/or career path.
The student assistants, Femke Heddema and Vivienne Kolman, support Science Career Service with the organization of events and student support.
