Leiden University College, which uses the Anna van Buerenplein location, consists of a building in which teaching takes place and studios in which students live. For this reason, the building is only accessible with a valid LU Card or by appointment.

Leiden University College regularly opens its doors for educational, inspirational and socially engaged events that have a direct connection to the education and research on The Hague campus. If you would like to organise something that might be of interest to our students and/or staff, please enquire about the possibilities. Due to limited capacity of the building, planning around education and research always takes priority.

Contact

If you would like to know more about the possibilities, please contact our Event Manager at events@luc.leidenuniv.nl.

Information from the municipality about paid parking in The Hague

There is no parking possibility at Anna van Buerenplein. Please take the following steps if it is really necessary to enter the square by car (e.g. in case of moving house):

  • Send an email to info@luc.leidenuniv.nl to let the LUC Information Desk know you want to come. They will then forward to the House of Representatives Security Department a request to open the barriers for you on the relevant date and time.
  • After the barriers, you will come across bollards, traffic poles that can sink into the ground. You can enter freely at times when the bollards are down. If you want to enter at a different time, apply for an exemption for retractable traffic barriers at least 3 working days in advance.

The Hague campus consists of three buildings in the administrative heart of the city. The students, researchers and staff of Leiden University have a place here that connects them directly to The Hague issues such as governance and security.

Students of Leiden University College The Hague (LUC) live at Anna van Buerenplein and attend lectures there. There are living studios for first- and second-year students, who are obliged to move in. On the other floors are teaching rooms. The offices of the academic and support staff are also located in this building.

For this reason, the building is only accessible to LUC-affiliated staff and students, or by appointment.
