Ready for an adventure? Sign up now for the Study Abroad Festival!
Are you ready to immerse yourself in a new culture and make friends for life? Would you like to study abroad at one of our partner universities as part of your bachelor or master? Then start your orientation at the Study Abroad Festival on 13 October in Leiden.
What is in it for you?
During the festival you will be able to visit a large number of information sessions. Find out where you can study abroad, talk to former exchange students and meet your faculty exchange coordinator to learn more about the options, procedures, deadlines and requirements within your programme.
At the exhibitor stands you can find out more about accommodation, insurances, scholarships and English language tests or talk to our career advisers on how to boost your (international) career opportunities. You can find the complete programme on our website.
Talk to the experts
Who better to advise you about a study abroad than someone who just returned from their exchange at one of our partner universities? Iris studied in Australia: ‘If you are not sure if you want to go abroad, I strongly recommend that you talk to as many people as possible about their experiences. That said, I dare to assure you that you will have the time of your life while studying abroad!’
Students play a key role in the festival and will be ready to answer your questions during an all-afternoon meet & greet session. Exchange students who currently study in Leiden are also available to tell you more about student life at their home country, city and university.
Fabianne in Seoul
‘'Anyeong Haseyo! Unfortunately no longer from Korea, but from the Netherlands. I studied at Korea University in Seoul, South Korea. Studying abroad is probably one of the scariest things I have ever done but also one of the best choices I’ve ever made. You get the opportunity to study in a complete new setting, meet great people, build friendships with people from all over the world and learn about other cultures. Of course it's a challenge. You need to build a new life in a whole new city, but at the same time you gain so much from the experience. I guarantee you, this is not something you will regret!’
Bao in Vancouver
‘A semester in Canada was a unique experience to see more of the world and to experience what it is like to study in another country. Thanks to my semester abroad, I have learned a lot about myself and made countless new friends from all over the world. In addition, Vancouver was a great opportunity to experience Canadian culture and nature in a fantastic way. Are you someone who dares to venture out and dares to look beyond the horizon? Sign up for the festival, start your orientation and take the leap!’
Iris in Melbourne
‘I studied one semester at Monash University in Melbourne. Here I completed a minor as part of my bachelor in Psychology which allowed me to gain more knowledge in different fields of study like criminology, health sociology, Australian culture and anthropology. Studying abroad not only gives you the opportunity to develop yourself in the academic field, but also as a person!’
