The Leiden University Student Platform (LUS) awards the annual Leiden Teaching Prize to the best lecturer in the past academic year. The prize is for the lecturer who has provided the best, most creative teaching. The top three lecturers will be recognised during the opening of the academic year in September. The winner will receive € 25,000 to improve the teaching and will become a member of the Leiden Teachers’ Academy.

Ayo Adedokun
Ayo Adedokun (LUC The Hague) has been nominated for the prize for ‘his care and attention to student wellbeing. He manages to put all his students at ease, and his enthusiasm is contagious.’
David Fontijn
The LUS praises David Fontijn (Faculty of Archaeology) for his ‘interaction during his lectures and his interactive teaching methods and use of different techniques. He puts students first.’
The winner will be announced at the opening of the academic year, on Monday 6 September 2021.
