Get to know our new Service Manager Alexander van Drooge
Alexander van Drooge recently joined us as Service Manager at the Kamerlingh Onnes Building. Let’s get to know him!
Alexander van Drooge has taken over from Kees van der Wal who retired last year. 'As Service Manager, together with my colleagues from the University Facilities Management (UFB), I make sure that the KOG and the Old Observatory buildings are a nice place to be for students and staff, to help them study and work without problems and so they can bring out the best in themselves’, says Van Drooge.
Although Van Drooge is a new face at the KOG, he has already been working for four years at the UFB. 'Before I started here, I worked in the hospitality sector in the Netherlands and abroad. Besides my work as Service Manager, I will also be involved in our hospitality programme Samen Nog Gastvrijer. Together with the UFB, we aim to be more welcoming, more friendly, and generally be more hospitable towards each other and our students and other staff. So there’s a clear link between my past and my current job.'
