Russian writer Maxim Osipov coming to Leiden University
Russian writer and cardiologist Maxim Osipov will come to the Netherlands for a year to teach in Leiden about Russian literature, his own work and the political situation in Russian.
Since criticising the war in Ukraine, Osipov has been forced into exile. He has won various literary prizes in Russia and his work has had a very positive reception in the Netherlands and the rest of Europe. His work includes ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors and Other Stories’ and a second collection, which will be published in September, ‘Kilometer 101’.
He will be the University’s writer in residence from the end of August.
