Hague TIX ‘To build a European threat intelligence community’

The Hague Threat Intelligence Exchange (Hague TIX) is happening on 12 June 2023. Monica Kaminska, Assistant Professor of International Security and Technology at the Institute of Security and Global Affairs, is one of the organisers of this unique conference ‘which brings together cyber threat intelligence researchers’.

What is Hague TIX 2023 exactly and what are the differences with the other editions?

Hague TIX is a conference which brings together cyber threat intelligence researchers from the private sector, government, and academia to share information on disruptive and destructive cyber operations. This year the conference is bigger than last year – we will be welcoming up to 200 attendees.

For whom is this event important? And are students welcome as well?

The objective of the event is to build a European threat intelligence community and, as such, is particularly relevant for threat intelligence researchers from different sectors. Students with a particularly strong interest in state-sponsored cyber operations and wanting to work threat intelligence might also find it valuable.

What can the participants expect from this event?

Participants can expect a series of 20 minute talks from leading threat intelligence researchers and discussion-based Q&A sessions. We are also looking forward to a keynote talk by a senior government representative from the UK National Cyber Security Centre.

Which speaker or presentation are you most looking forward to?

We have an incredible roster of speakers. This year we are particularly excited to welcome Joe Slowik, one of the best known threat intelligence researchers in the world; Robert Lipovsky, who has been at the ‘front lines’ of Russia’s cyber-attacks in Ukraine and was part of the team that discovered the Industroyer2 operation; and Mei Danowski, who has done groundbreaking work on Chinese state-sponsored operations.

When is this event successful in for you?

We consider Hague TIX to be successful when attendees engage with speakers and with each other throughout the day and exchange views of the cyber threat landscape, and when we receive enquiries about next year’s edition!

TIX is sold out!
