In Memoriam Douwe Remmelts
Bachelor student Douwe Remmelts passed away on April 30.
With total shock, we heard of the unexpected passing of Douwe Remmelts. Douwe was about to complete his bachelor studies in astronomy and physics, and he was an active member of the study association De Leidsche Flesch. They write about him: ‘Douwe was befriended by many members, he gave his all to committees, and brought smiles and laughs to us on a daily basis.’ Students and staff also know him as a valued Teaching Assistant. His presence touched many in the LION and STRW family and the resonance of these moments will always remain with us.
