What’s Next? First steps in crafting your career
What energises you, what are your talents, and how can you use all this in your future job? These are essential questions that will help you to identify your career options and design your future. The What’s Next? course offers the opportunity to find answers to them.
What will you do in the course?
What’s Next? is an extracurricular course, focused on personal development. It is different from other courses in your curriculum, because this course is really about you.
You will learn how to apply the popular innovation method ‘design thinking’ to your own life, and to use the mindset of a designer to imagine a variety of futures for yourself. You will work in small groups, guided by a student mentor. You will learn to step out of your comfort zone and will gain more clarity and self-confidence to take control of your future. The course is worth 2 EC and is taught in English.
A student who took the course previously reported the following in their evaluation: 'I genuinely feel I learned skills that I'm going to use in my everyday life'. Another student said: 'I really liked how it pushed me to do things that I otherwise would probably not have done. Networking, for example, I found it very daunting in the beginning, but the more I did it, the easier it got.'
