Looking back on successful Career Events in Leiden and The Hague
On Wednesday 16 April, two inspiring career events took place at Leiden University: the Humanities Career Event in Leiden and the Job Fair in The Hague. Together, the events attracted nearly 1,000 students exploring their future career paths.
At the Herta Mohr Building in Leiden, over 300 students attended the Humanities Career Event, featuring 25 presentations from organisations including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Google, the Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD), and the Rijksmuseum. Many of the speakers were alumni from our faculty, offering students valuable insights into their career journeys. They also reflected on how the knowledge and skills gained during their studies continue to shape their current roles.
Job Fair
Meanwhile, at the Wijnhaven Building in The Hague, more than 600 students attended the Job Fair, where they had the opportunity to meet 50 organisations from both the Netherlands and abroad. This careers fair catered to both Dutch and international students, offering a range of concrete opportunities, from internships to graduate positions. Attendees were able to network, explore current vacancies, and ask questions directly to representatives from organisations such as the International Criminal Court, TNO, Public Matters, and the Ministry of Justice and Security. The Job Fair was organised in collaboration with the Career Services of FGGA and FSW.
CV checks, styling advice and professional photos
In addition to meeting employers and alumni, students at both events could also have their CVs reviewed, receive styling advice, and have a professional photo taken for their CV or LinkedIn profile.
