Hub for Impactful and Engaged Research launched
The Hub for Impactful and Engaged Research is a new collaboration that brings together five leading educational institutions in the province of Zuid-Holland: Leiden University, the LUMC, Delft University of Technology, Erasmus Medical Center and Erasmus University Rotterdam.
The Hub for Impactful and Engaged Research (HIER) aims to strengthen, coordinate and increase the visibility of civic engagement across the region.
Coordinating network
The hub is a coordinating network that connects programmes, expertise and infrastructures across the five organisations. Research with citizens and civic partners is often fragmented and organised as a short-term effort, which limits its reach, sustainability and impact.
HIER will function as a hub for researchers and educators, and is one of five hubs that will embed citizen science and societal engagement in higher education in the Netherlands.
