Scholarship amount

This is not a full scholarship and does not cover all the recipient's expenses in the Netherlands. Students must be able to fund their own travel and housing costs, and the remainder of their living costs. Recipients must also be able to submit proof of sufficient funds for their student visa/residence permit application. You can find information on monthly living costs in the Netherlands on our financial matters page

Note: an English test is a prerequisite for admission and the costs for this test must also be covered by the applicant.

Housing

Finding housing in Leiden, The Hague, and the surrounding area can be challenging due to the limited availability of affordable student accommodation. When applying for admission, you can choose to request housing via Leiden University. The fee for the housing request will be paid directly from your scholarship. See the information on Requesting housing via Leiden University. Note that housing via Leiden University is not guaranteed and early application is essential!
