Problems, complaints and disputes

If you have a problem, complaint or dispute you should generally first try to resolve the issue with the person or organisation directly. If that doesn’t work there are a number of organisations you can turn to for help.

Are you are renting accommodation from DUWO, via Leiden University Housing Office? If so, who you should contact depends on the nature of the problem:

  • Problems concerning contracts or payment: Contact Leiden University Housing Office
  • Maintenance and repair issues: Contact DUWO via the online Request for repair form
  • Problems of a more personal nature, such as difficulties with a roommate or adapting to life in the Netherlands: Contact the International Student Advisor
  • If you have already spoken to the parties above but your problem remains unresolved, you can contact the Ombuds Officer for students.
