Faculty Club

Since its establishment in 1998, the Faculty Club has become an important venue for social events at Leiden University. The Faculty Club is located in the Academy Building.

Restaurant and Brasserie

Faculty Club Restaurant

The centrepiece of the Faculty Club is its restaurant which is an ideal venue for receptions, buffets and dinners. You can also soak up the restaurant’s historic ambiance whilst enjoying an à la carte lunch or dinner.

The restaurant is also suitable for larger groups but advance reservation is required.

Faculty Club Brasserie

The brasserie, with its flexible layout of chairs, tables and comfortable barstools, is the perfect location for an informal gathering. It is open from morning till evening, which means you can enjoy your morning latte macchiato, lunchtime mozzarella ciabatta or a cold beer at the end of the day. You are also welcome to visit the brasserie for an à la carte lunch or dinner, or just for drinks. 


The à la carte menu at the Faculty Club Brasserie and Restaurant changes every two weeks. As well as à la carte options you can also choose from our standard range of cakes, sandwiches and savoury snacks.

Want to celebrate your graduation in style? Why not hold your graduation reception at the Faculty Club, located in the historic Academy Building where the university was founded all those years ago. We offer three different options for graduation receptions, all available for groups of 10 people or more.

Morning celebration

Artisanal and sustainable

In the Faculty Club kitchen we use fresh artisanal ingredients produced on a sustainable basis whenever possible.

Our suppliers offer a large range of artisanal and biological products. Not only do we use high quality meat and fish products, our dairy products, vegetables, fruit, bread, cakes and wines are all sourced from reputable producers. This ensures both a better tasting and healthier dining experience.
