Students4Students
The POPcorner The Hague is a platform for and by students. As a student you can develop your own initiatives that contribute to an inclusive academic community.
Students who want to get more out of their time at university and want to do something for their fellow students have come to the right place. With us, students can work on their personal and professional development by contributing to students4students activities.
The pillars of this platform for and by students are the student ambassadors.
‘Where perspectives meet, understanding grows’ The Nuance Project is a student-led initiative aimed at fostering respectful and meaningful dialogue on important but divisive topics. The project is rooted in student participation, ensuring flexible and co-created sessions. Through transformative dialogue practices, students are encouraged to explore diverse perspectives without the pressure of reaching a consensus.
What is The Nuance Project?
The Nuance Project is a platform created by students, for students to facilitate dialogue on divisive issues in a respectful, open-minded manner. Its mission is to promote the humanity of every participant and create a space where different perspectives can meet and interact. Unlike traditional debates that focus on convincing, this project emphasizes dialogue grounded in open-mindedness and a willingness to explore new viewpoints.
Why was The Nuance Project created?
The project emerged in response to heightened tensions on campus, and the absence of a feasible platform where students could speak freely and address these tensions, without fear of judgment and isolation. This initiative provides a much-needed space for respectful dialogue on various topics, offering students a space to challenge their thinking while being heard.
How does The Nuance Project work?
Sessions are held bi-weekly and are open to all students, who are free to join whenever they like. Each session is guided by transformative dialogue practices, which aim to deepen understanding even if agreement is not reached. Additionally, the dialogues take place in English. Co-created topics, shaped by current events and participant interests, ensure that the dialogue remains relevant. This method, based on shared experiences rather than winning arguments, allows for a more profound engagement with contentious issues.
