There are many organisations that can provide you with information on the various aspects of studying abroad. We have listed a few of them for you here.

International exchange coordinators

Do you have a specific question that wasn’t addressed during the international exchange coordinators’ presentation? Contact your faculty or study programme's international exchange coordinator.

Insurances

On the Aon Student Insurance website you can find out about the insurance policies available for studying and internships abroad. You can also contact Aon with general health insurance questions.

Study in America

Would you like to study in America? The Fulbright Center can advise you about scholarship programmes and many other aspects of studying in the US, for example the education system and the costs involved.

Study in Morocco

Does Morocco appeal to you? The Netherlands Morocco Institute offers a minor in Culture and Society in Morocco. 

Study and internships in Cairo

The Netherlands Flemish Institute in Cairo offers study and internship opportunities in Cairo, including a 30 EC Middle East Studies programme. The programme includes Arabic language classes.

Language skills

Many partner universities require you to take a language test to demonstrate that your English is good enough to study with them. Visit the websites of the British Council (IELTS test) and ETS Global (TOEFL test) to find out about the different tests and how you can prepare for them.

Internships

Some faculties offers the opportunity to do internships abroad. Take a look under your faculty tab on the study abroad website or talk to your international exchange coordinator for further information.

Entire master's programme

Do you want to do an entire master's programme abroad? The SAF is primarily intended for Leiden University students who want to do an exchange programme, internship or research project abroad. There are no presentations specifically on doing an entire master's abroad. However, a number of the above-mentioned organisations can provide you with information, for example the Fullbright Center for study in the US.

Visa

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide information about visas at the SAF. Conditions and procedures vary greatly depending on your nationality and destination. Once you are admitted to an exchange programme, you will receive information about visa procedures. You can also request information from your destination country's embassy or consulate.
