What knowledge, skills and qualities do you already have to distinguish yourself on the job market? It can be difficult to see this in yourself, because it is very normal for you and you may always act in this way. This workshop is intended for students and recent graduates who want to get a better picture of themselves and how to use this in their (study) career.
The aim of this workshop is to gain insight into your knowledge, competences and qualities. Outlined by some theory about the labor market and personal development, the focus of this workshop will be on exercises to clarify what you have to offer. This self-knowledge helps you introduce yourself better to possible employers.

And especially for EU students: how do I apply for ‘collegegeld krediet’? What do I need to know because of the Brexit? These and lots more will be answered! Have you ever felt like you were standing before a giant mountain you cannot climb? How did you manage to get over this? During this session you will get the unique chance to reflect on your life through the perspective of others. Sharing your ‘mountains’ and meeting other people from a totally different background can help you to see your life in another perspective. The student initiative IncLUsion Leiden helps students with refugee backgrounds integrate in the world of the university by connecting them to buddies. So, IncLUsion Leiden is all about helping each other while having different backgrounds and perspectives. You will get the unique opportunity to meet an IncLUsion refugee student and a buddy, who will share their story about how the perspective of others can help in their daily student life.

Become a happy worrier!
Feel like you’re worrying a lot and don’t know how to deal with this? In this workshop Bart Verkuil will not only explain why we worry, but he will also give a different perspective on worrying. Because did you know worrying isn’t always that bad? And that it is part of our human nature? Together we will discuss what works and what not in dealing with excessive worries and stress, so at the end of the session, attendants will have a better understanding of their own worries and what they might want to do about it (or not!). And last but not least: you will make a chance on Bart Verkuil’s book: De gelukkige piekeraar (Dutch). So sign up!

Do you ever feel like you’re the only one who’s life isn’t always perfect and succesful? You are NOT the only one! Lots of students feel like they have to do everything perfect at once, and feel like they fail when this is not the case. During Failing Forward we will talk about this topic with eachother and we hope to give you another perspective on ‘failing’. Because did you know that failing isn’t always that bad? And that the solution of that performanceculture you live in as a student lies in this insight? Hope to see you then!

Mindful walking is not about arriving at your destination or rushing to finish your walk, but it is simply about being mindful that you are walking and that you are breathing. We arrive with every step. Walk leisurely and peacefully, with soft eyes and gentle breathing. We will take a walk of about 25 minutes around the Haagse Bos, a beautiful forest in the heart of The Hague. Walking meditation is first and foremost a practice to bring body and mind together peacefully.

Dealing with daily life and changes in daily life such as COVID-19 can be challenging. But how can it be that some deal better with it than others? The answer: resilience. Emotional resilience is the ability to deal with challenges, setbacks, changes and stress in a functional way. You are capable to stay positive, future oriented and strong and are able to ‘bounce back’. And you know how to sustain your resilience in different ways.

In this dialogue session we will talk about what resilience means to you. We will find out how personal resilience works and how you can make your own resilience grow.
