During the graduation ceremony there are many different ways for both students and graduands to get involved including student performances, class representative, Master of ceremony and so on. Below, we have listed all the ways you can be involved and how to get in touch.
Please take a look and nominate yourself for any of these opportunities before the respective deadlines. If you have any questions, then please don’t hesitate to send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The valedictorian will be selected based on the highest GPA. This student will be informed two weeks before the ceremony and invited to give the valedictorian speech. The valedictorian speech is scheduled after the conferring of the degrees.
The class representative is chosen by the graduating class. Graduands who wish to fulfill the class representative duties are invited to sign up for the position of Class Representative through the graduation questionnaire. Once the list of applicants is complete all graduands will be asked to vote for their preferred representative. If you wish to nominate yourself as the Class Representative, please submit this in the graduation questionnaire sent to your e-mail (Monday 19th April).
All responses received before Friday 30th April 2021 will be considered and the final vote cast early May.
Responsibilities of the Class Representative:
- Give a speech at the graduation ceremony (opposed to the perhaps more academic speech of the valedictorian, this speech would be based upon the social or community experiences of LUC, as well as the academic ones, and would thus be a witty, inspiring speech).
- A life-long commitment to the alumni association Evolucio as class representative (in the future, when we will have many alumni classes, these class representatives would then be the first point of call for the Evolucio board to reach the alumni of those classes).
We have reserved a time slot in the ceremony for a student performance. Of course, this year, it will be online. Are you talented and brave enough to sing, dance, play music, juggle, make a comedy sketch or perform in any other way during the ceremony?
We are really open to your own creativeness but please make sure that your act takes no longer than 3 minutes in total. If you are interested in performing, then please submit your entry here.
Master of Ceremony
We are looking for two Masters of Ceremony. In this role, you will both be hosting the online programme. If you enjoy hosting and you’re comfortable speaking in front of the camera, then please sign up! We would love to hear from you by Monday 18th May 2021. Please sign-up here.
We will be compiling a video to show as part of the online ceremony of all your favourite moments of LUC.
To take part, please submit a video that captures funny, memorable, embarrassing, or heartwarming memories of you and your friends .
-No longer than 1 minute
-Make sure that everyone in the video consented to the video being sent
-Be mindful that this video will also be shown to parents and staff who will be attending the graduation!
Send in your video(s) here by Monday 31st May.
