Leiden Leadership Programme

The Leiden Leadership Programme (LLP) is geared towards motivated master's students who wish to develop their leadership skills.

What is the Leiden Leadership Programme?

The Leiden Leadership Programme consists of 15 EC and consists of the essential componend LLP Essentials (5 EC) supplemented with a Leadership Lab (10 EC) and two elective modules (3 EC each). The programme is taught in English with one component, the Leadership Lab is offered in Dutch as well.

This component will cover the fundamental aspects of leadership through a series of lectures given by scientists and talks by field experts: the Leiden Leadership Lectures.

In the Leadership Lab (4 EC) you will set out to tackle a topical problem presented by one of our partner organisations, and develop general leadership skills that contribute to a successful execution of the consultancy assignment.

There are three Leadership Labs, all linked to relevant questions surrounding societal issues, namely:

  • Sustainability & Climate
  • Equality & Inclusion
  • Healthy Living & Well-being
  • Peace & Safety

The modules consist of lectures and skills training. The lectures will cover a wide range of leadership theories and give students the opportunity to practice and apply the specific leadership skills relating to the themes of the elective module of choice.

The first round of elective modules (January-March) consists of:

  • Business Leadership
  • Public Leadership
  • Community Leadership

The second round of elective modules (March-May) consists of:
