Support for honours students
Find out how honours students at Leiden University get support, join a community or offer suggestions for improvements of honours education.
Student representative Honours Academy
Students are invited and encouraged to contact the Assessor with any questions, suggestions or ideas related to their honours education at Leiden University! We are always looking for ways to improve our education, organisation and communication.
The Assessor represents the interests of all honours students as a member of the board of the Honours Academy. The assessor has a say in the development of policies and draws the Dean and the Educational Director's attention to the students' perspectives.
Accessibility
Do you have questions regarding the accessibility of a programma you are participating in or want to participate in? Please contact the coordinator of the specific honours programme. We look forward to investigating the possibilities together.
Study associations for honours students
A couple of honours communities have their own study association. There is PREunion for PRE-University College students and alumni, JHV Themis for students of the Honours College Law and Spectra for the Honours College FSW. Please contact the assessor if you want to start your own association.
Well-being and honours education
You are always welcome to contact the assessor or your honours coordinator to discuss how we can help improve your well-being as Honours Academy.
Looking for tools to work on your well-being? Gezondeboel ("Healthy Stuff") offers more than 100 anonymous modules that help you improve your learning strategy and planning. You will learn how to deal with fear of failure, stress and finding the right balance. You will also find training courses on mental well-being, such as resilience, worrying less and using social media. Log in with your ULCN account to access the courses.
Student psychologists
As student enrolled at Leiden University, you can also turn to student psychologists. Unfortunately, these are not available to Pre-University students. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about this.
Complaints
Do you have a complaint about something that happened during honours education? Leiden University has confidential counsellors and an ombudsperson to whom you can also address complaints about honours education. Your complaint will always be handled confidentially.
