Guidance and advice
To help you successfully complete your studies, Leiden University offers guidance and advice. There are various people and departments at Leiden University who can help you.
As part of the Leiden study system we provide first-year bachelor’s students with good support and good academic guidance. This guidance is given by tutors and mentors from your faculty or study programme.

Your study adviser or coordinator is an expert on all aspects of your study programme. If you have any questions or concerns about your programme, whether they be of a practical or academic nature, you can contact your study adviser.
If you are the victim of unacceptable behaviour (such as sexual harassment, aggression, violence or discrimination), or suspect malpractice or an infringement of academic integrity, you can turn to one of the confidential counsellors.
Each confidential counsellor can offer assistance and, if required, refer you to the person best suited to answer your question.
Our student psychologists are accessible and easy to approach. You are welcome to arrange a consultation to discuss any problems you might be experiencing.
