Study success

Your path to study success: a good start, study skills and personal development.

A good start
A good start to your academic year begins with smart preparation. This does take some time, but it is good to find out in advance what is expected of you, where you can get information, and what support you can count on.

Study progress/study skills
For most students, it is a challenge to (continue to) study at the nominal pace. Personal circumstances, insufficient planning and study skills, fear of failure, lack of well-being... these can all get in the way. Fortunately, accessible support is available so that you remain in control of your own study career.

Personal development
Whereas your professional development focuses on the skills and knowledge you need for your future transition to the labour market, your personal development is broader and revolves mainly around your well-being, resilience and self-awareness. Both are essential: investing in your personal growth has a positive impact on your professional development, while appropriate professional development contributes to motivation and job satisfaction.

Together with students who have gone before you, the POPcorner has developed a wide range of services to help you study successfully, with a focus on your professional and personal development and well-being. These services consist of one-on-one conversations, workshops, courses and Students for Students activities.

Examples of our workshops and courses:

  • Study skills and time management
  • Exam confidence
  • Study plan group
  • ePOPcorner
  • AI in academia: how to use it ethically and effectively
  • Creative use of AI
  • Daily Dutch

You can find the current POPcorner offerings:

  • in the Course calendar on the student website;
  • and in the Brightspace Student Plaza: this Brightspace environment has been set up to help you find your way around our range of activities, so you can easily find what you are looking for, when you need it.
