Study Programme

The Liberal Arts & Sciences educational philosophy dates back to medieval Europe and developed into a modern educational concept in the United States. Typically a modern Liberal Arts & Sciences curriculum is offered at the undergraduate level and includes the Humanities, the Sciences, and the Social Sciences, either studied by themselves or in combination. The curricula all include an emphasis on the development of general academic skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The development of social and civic skills is considered to be as essential as the academic skills.

The real-world settings to which the LUC programme awards its primary focus are the global challenges of today: peace & justice, sustainability, prosperity, and diversity. This focus is introduced in our signature global challenges courses in the first year and will be built upon over the duration of your studies.

There are 6 majors you can choose as of your second year. For more individual major information, please check the e-Studiegids
