Transitional arrangements

For more information on the transitional arrangements please contact your study adviser. You can also find the transitional arrangements on the Dutch website by selecting your Master's program.

Civil effect legal studies

To gain access to the so-called legal Toga professions (legal profession, judiciary, public prosecutor) you must have met a number of conditions within the law degree program. When that is the case, the 'Civil Effect' note will be on your Master's degree.

Validity of examinations

Article 4.7.1 OER stipulates that the period of validity of passed examinations and obtained exemptions is in principle unlimited, but that the Examination Board can decide that an examination or exemption will expire if it has been obtained longer than six (bachelor) or three (master) years ago and knowledge, insight and/or skills are demonstrably obsolete.

If you are currently studying as a master student for three years or longer and you do not expect to graduate before 1 September of this academic year, please consult the overview Validity master examinations (see Documents in the column on the right) to see if as of 1 September of next academic year the validity of one or more courses will expire.

Formal regulations

Every study program has Course and Examination Regulations (OER). The Examination Rules and Regulations of the Bachelor's and Master's programs contain all rights and obligations of students, lecturers and faculty regarding examination matters.
