When deciding what to study you undoubtedly read a lot of information about your study programme. Leiden University employs various systems to provide information about programmes and courses and to facilitate communication between lecturers and students.

The Prospectus contains information about all the courses within your study programme. Here you can find all you need to know about your programme. Via the online learning environment Brightspace you can communicate with your lecturers and submit assignments.

Study programme Population Health Management

Our study programme is designed with input from the professional field. Interdisciplinary collaboration is is at the core of this curriculum, shaped to train our students in all aspects of Population Health Management.

Year 1

In year 1, the curriculum consists of 10 courses with a 4-week-structure:

Parallel to the courses, students participate in two project cases: one in each semester. The projects require group work to tackle a health care issue, based on interdisciplinary collaborations from the professional field. 

 

Year 2

The second year is split into two parts which can be executed parallel to each other. In the first half year, students have to put together a personal programme within one of four fields:

  • epidemiology
  • data science
  • governance
  • syndemics

Two orientation weeks are scheduled in year 1 to inform students about the choices.

During your final semester, students carry out a research project and write a thesis.
