Sciences Po Summer School: Study in Paris or Online, Anywhere in the World!

15 april 2021

Despite our hopes of hosting the entire Summer School on campus this summer and after careful consideration of the global health situation, we have decided to make some changes to the University Programme in 2021.

Social sciences track
The social sciences track will be offered entirely online for the June session. For the July session, students have the choice to take a social sciences course online or on campus in Paris.

In the social sciences track, students delve into Sciences Po’s key disciplines, such as international relations, political science, history or economics. Courses are taught in English by Sciences Po professors and researchers.
Social sciences courses for Summer 2021 include:

June (online) session:
- World Politics
- Media and Politics
- Economic Development and Globalization
- Fighting Inequalities & Social Risk in the 21st Century: A Global Perspective

July (on campus) session:
- The European Union at a Crossroads
- The Age of Economists
- Sustainable Development and Climate Action
- Human Security
- Populism and Democracy in Comparative Perspective

July (online) session:

- A Rising Invisible Majority? Capital, Labour & the Welfare State

French language track
Given that full immersion in French language and culture is an integral part of the academic experience at the Summer School, the French language track will be offered exclusively on campus in Paris during the July session.

The French language track offers courses for all levels, from complete beginners to advanced speakers. Classes focus on developing language skills while also delving into French culture and contemporary issues in France. The core French language classes also include oral and written expression workshops.

Modification of Fees
To reflect the online format, the Summer School will reduce the portion of its fees that are related to physically hosting students on campus. Please see the updated tuition fees for the University Programme below.

June (online) session: 2 000 €
July (online) session:  2 000 €
July (on campus) session: 2 400 €

Application deadlines:
Please note that the new deadlines to submit an application are :
June session: May 3rd
July session: May 31st

Building on the Summer School's expertise in online learning, and the success of the 2020 Online Summer School, we are looking forward to once again providing an enriching and multicultural learning experience for all students online and on campus! In 2020, we welcomed 140 students representing 37 different nationalities for an online edition of the University Programme; 97% of participants were satisfied or very satisfied with this experience.

The Summer School team remains available to answer any questions you may have about the programme in Summer 2021. In the meantime, please visit our website for more information.
