Het studieprogramma van de EMPO bestaat uit drie leerlijnen: Onderwijspraktijk (72 EC, o.a. stage), Profilering (24 EC) en Onderwijsonderzoek (24 EC). De drie leerlijnen zijn onderling met elkaar verbonden.
