Safe use of IT
- Make sure that your home computer, mobile phone and tablet are updated and have good security software.
- Use a trusted and secure (wifi) network.
- Be alert for phishing and fake emails. If you receive an unexpected email or an email from an unfamiliar sender, do not click on any links, open any attachments or enter any details. The university will never ask you for your passwords by email. If you think you have received a phishing email, report it in the helpdesk portal.
- Use OneDrive to save and share files safely.
- Close the browser completely after having been logged in. Do not save your passwords in your browser.

Go to https://brightspace.universiteitleiden.nl/ and log in using you ULCN credentials.
You can reset your password in Account Services using your security questions. If this does not work, please get in touch with the ISSC Helpdesk.
There is a new connection between uSis and Brightspace, meaning you only have to enroll yourself once – in uSis – after which your enrollment is automatically communicated to Brightspace. Unenrollment also takes place in uSis and is communicated to Brightspace. Enrollment for non-uSis courses is done via a url-link provided by your lecturer or course convenor.
If you are enrolled in uSis but cannot see your course, it means the course does not exist in Brightspace yet. Please get in touch with your lecturer or course convenor.
You enroll in uSis for the seminar/tutorial group of your choice. If you want to change groups, you change your enrollment in uSis. Always get in touch with the administration office before you change groups.
You can’t use the Brightspace email function to email your instructor or fellow students. Your lecturer will provide their contact information in the General Information folder. You can also find contact information for your lecturers in the Prospectus or on the university website.
In Brightspace, click on your name or profile photo > Notifications. Then tick the box for “new announcements”.
