Every year, two JSVO teaching awards are presented during the opening of the faculty year: one for the best lecturer and one for the best workgroup teacher. All students studying at the Leiden Law School can nominate their favorite teacher for these awards until 17 July 2023.

Since 2021, the awards have been centered around educational innovation. Students from different study associations indicate which lecturer and which workgroup teacher they found most enjoyable and innovative during the year. The teaching awards are presented by the Juridische Studieverenigingen Voorzitters Overleg (JSVO). The jury consists of multiple board members of faculty study associations, the student member of the Board of Education and the assessor of the Faculty Board. After contacting the nominees, the jury chooses the winners.
