Some construction work will take place in the Huizinga and Lipsius buildings over the summer, but we expect disruption to be minimised, as there are no lectures in this period. While the work is being carried out, it may occasionally not be possible to use a specific floor, room, area or even the entire building. The precise timeline of the work is not yet known. Users will be informed as soon as we know the dates on which all the work will take place. Activities and events scheduled in the Huizinga and Lipsius buildings will be – or have already been – moved to other buildings on campus, in consultation with the organisers.

Replacement of windows in Huizinga
All the exterior windows in the Huizinga Building will soon be replaced with high-performance (HR++) glazing. This glazing provides extra insulation, making the building more sustainable and improving the indoor climate, on both hot summer days and cold winter days.
The measuring work has already been completed, and replacing the windows is expected to take one day. The frames will then need to be painted, which we also expect to take one day. 
The replacement work is scheduled at the end of June. Users of the Huizinga Building will be informed of the precise date as soon as possible.

Installation of new main power distribution cabinet in Lipsius
In the Lipsius Building, the main power distribution cabinet – the unit that distributes electricity to different parts of the building and the Huizinga Building – needs to be replaced. The actual replacement of the distribution cabinet will take just a few hours. Subsequently, the cables will then have to be rerouted, which means that parts of these buildings will be without power for several hours.
All users will also be informed about this work as soon as we know precisely when it will take place.
