New log-in procedures university systems
Leiden University is moving towards a more uniform login experience. As a result, the familiar blue ULCN login screen will gradually be replaced by the Microsoft login screen.
What this means for students
- When logging into certain systems, you will be directed to the Microsoft log-in screen.
- On this screen you must enter your user name + @vuw.leidenuniv.nl
Your user name is a lower case ‘s’ followed by your student number. In other words, enter s123456@vuw.leidenuniv.nl
- You won’t need to log in as often. After signing in via the Microsoft screen you will automatically have access to more university applications. This does mean it’s even more important to lock your computer if you walk away from it.
- During the transition period, you will be asked to log in twice when accessing ‘Account Services’. Once via the old method (blue ULCN screen), then again via the Microsoft screen.
Which systems?
The new log-in procedure applies to the following systems:
- Account services (e.g. for LU-Card requests, re-setting your password)
- Brightspace
- My Studymap
- My Timetable
- uSis
