Workshop
If you are a non-EU student/graduate and you are thinking about (starting) your career in the Netherlands during your studies or after graduation, you might have a lot of questions about the official rules and regulations. Or about the habits and do’s and don’ts in the Dutch working environment. During this information session we will provide you with the most important information regarding the legal aspects for non-EU students/graduates and the specific cultural challenges of working in the Netherlands.
Who can participate?
Non-EU students of the Leiden University and alumni within the first year after graduation. English will be the main language of this information session.

Speakers
Sofia Helbing - Everaert Immigration Lawyers
Sofia joined Everaert Advocaten as a paralegal in September 2021, having completed a student internship at the firm during her master’s. In December 2023 she was sworn in as lawyer. At Everaert Advocaten, she mainly focuses on family and labour migration.
Sofia studied Law with a specialization in Juvenile Law at the University of Amsterdam, Leiden University and the North-West University in South Africa. She wrote her Bachelor’s thesis on immigration issues in Malaysia and during her master’s she focused on the rights of children in the context of migration.
Before starting her work at Everaert, she gained work experience at the Court of Amsterdam and gave out legal advice at the Kinder- en Jongerenrechtswinkel Amsterdam.
Maureen Krösschell - Everaert Immigration Lawyers
Maureen joined Everaert Advocaten as a paralegal in February 2024. She works, among others, in the practice groups for family reunification both national and EU, medical, 8 ECHR and labour migration. Prior to this, Maureen completed her Master’s degree in Public International Law at the University of Amsterdam. Within this Master’s programme, she mainly focused on European migration law and human rights law. She also obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies and studied Arabic at the Dutch-Flemish Institute in Cairo.
Besides her work for Everaert Advocaten, Maureen is a qualified teacher in Dutch as a second language.
