Bake Initiative
We are psychology students at Leiden University who are passionate about actively contributing to society. We recognize the importance of our opportunity to help people in disadvantaged positions. To put these values into practice, we are raising funds for those affected by the Palestinian war as part of the Honors Changemakers Lab course. To achieve this goal, we are organizing a bake sale

This project will promote awareness and provide a simple and accessible way to contribute to an urgent social cause. This is crucial, as the United Nations Commission (2025) concluded that the State of Israel has committed genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. These acts include killing and deliberately inflicting physical destruction, the systematic destruction of healthcare and education systems, and the use of starvation as a method of warfare.
Amid these challenging times, this project also creates space to mobilize our community and foster meaningful connections. Therefore, this bake sale not only helps those in need but also those who want to help but do not know how.
That said, our project directly reflects the goals and values of our faculty, which aims to encourage students and staff to engage responsibly with global issues.”**
