On 10 June, future board members of Leiden University study associations will gather for a central introductory session focused on well-being and social safety.
Aim of the session
The afternoon will consist of several interactive sessions and provide practical guidance to help you confidently fulfill your future role as a board member. Through this programme, as an upcoming board member, you will lay an important foundation for how you will fulfill your role and how you and the board will contribute to a supportive and safe environment.
Who is this for?
While it may not be possible for the entire board to participate, it is highly recommended that those responsible for matters such as social safety, well-being, and communication with members and committees attend.
Programme
12.45–13.00: walk-in
13:00–17:00: main programme:
- Gain insight into the roles and responsibilities of a board member regarding well-being and social safety, as well as where to set boundaries
- Learn to handle difficult situations and improve your support skills: recognise signs, take action, and know when to refer someone
- Learn to recognise signs of inappropriate behaviour and discover what actions you (as an individual and board member) can take yourself in the Active Bystander training
- Discover what support services are available to you, the association, and its members during this board year
17:00–17:45: Informal conversation & get-together
