Europe Hub launches new minor programme: European Approaches to Societal Challenges
As of September 2026, Leiden University’s Europe Hub will be offering a new interdisciplinary minor: European Approaches to Societal Challenges.
The programme will introduce students to how Europe addresses its most pressing issues – security, migration, climate change, economic inequality, and health – through the lenses of political science, history, law, and governance. Taught entirely in English and based in The Hague, the programme carries 30 EC and accommodates up to 60 students, with enrollment possibility increasing for years to come.
The minor is an initiative of the Europe Hub. Participating institutes and faculties are the Institute of Political Science (Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences), the Institute of Public Administration , the Institute of Security and Global Affairs (Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs), Leiden Law School, and the Faculty of Humanities.
