Sichuan University Summer School Scholarship
Sichuan University is generously offering up to ten scholarships to Leiden University students who wish to attend their University Immersion 2018 Summer School which takes place from 8 till 21 July 2018.

For who
Bachelor and first-year Master students of Leiden University who would like to participate in a two-week summer school in China.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be currently registered as a Bachelor or first-year Master students at Leiden University.
Obligations
Students are expected to participate in courses and field trips.
Scholarship amount
The scholarship covers:
- Registration fee
- Tuition fee
- Housing (for period of two weeks, on-campus, in mainly en-suite single rooms)
- Subsidy for on-campus food
- Subsidy for in-China travel to and from Chengdu University - on presentation of receipts, itinerary etc.
Scholarship recipients must cover their own international airfare costs and arrange adequate medical insurance for their stay in China.

Applicants must submit the following documents by email to studyabroad@sea.leidenuniv.nl, by 1 May 2018 at the very latest.

Selection process
Leiden University’s International Relations Office will select students for the scholarship. Applicants will be informed of the outcome in the week following the application deadline.
Specific information
The programme is designed to give international students the opportunity to gain campus experience and explore the cultures of West China. It offers a wide range of courses with a focus on intensive Chinese cultural studies, plus field trips to minority areas and world historical, cultural and natural heritage sites. Students will be allocated a Chinese ‘buddy’ to help them find their way at the university and in the city of Chengdu. For more information visit the Sichuan University website.
