Tsinghua University 2018 Summer School Scholarship
Tsinghua University is generously offering two scholarships to Leiden University students who wish to attend their Experiencing China 2018 Summer School which takes place from 15 till 28 July 2018.

For who
Bachelor and first-year Master students of Leiden University who would like to participate in a two-week summer school in China.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be currently registered as a Bachelor or first-year Master students at Leiden University.
Obligations
Students are expected to participate in keynote lectures, project discussions, interactive workshops and attend site visits.
Scholarship amount
The scholarship covers:
- Registration fee
- Tuition fee
- Housing (for period of two weeks, on-campus, in mainly en-suite single rooms)
- Basic accident insurance for a two week period in Beijing
Scholarship recipients must cover their own airfare costs and arrange adequate medical insurance for their stay in China.
Application process
Applicants must submit the following documents by email to studyabroad@sea.leidenuniv.nl, by 6 May 2018 at the very latest.

- Transcript of grades with GPA and official stamp
- Photo copy of passport (page with photo)
- One digital passport photo (cap-free – size: 2 inch)
- Brief (1 page) motivation letter
Selection process
Leiden University’s International Relations Office will select two students for the scholarship. The applications of these two selected students will then be forwarded to Tsinghua University. Applicants will be informed of the outcome in the week following the application deadline.
Specific information
This summer school at one China’s top university offers small interactive classes on 13 topics including Architecture, Creative City, Education, History, Tomorrow’s Youth, Economy and Gender Studies. Student will choose one of the 13 tracks and can earn two Tsinghua University academic credits upon a positive assessment of participation and the submission of two academic essays.
