Marlou Schrover is op 1 maart Leo Lucassen opgevolgd als hoogleraar Economische en Sociale Geschiedenis.

Leo Lucassen (hoogleraar Sociale Geschiedenis, Leiden University Institute for History) is onlangs op voordracht van de afdeling Geschiedenis en Archeologie van de Academia Europaea lid geworden van deze Europese academie voor wetenschappen.

Dinsdagavond 10 december won de Leidse historicus Stefan Penders (25) de jaarlijkse scriptieprijs van het Internationaal Instituut voor Sociale Geschiedenis (IISG) en de Volkskrant. Hij won de prijs voor zijn scriptie ‘Imperial waters. Roman river god art in context’.

Leo Lucassen, hoogleraar Global Labour and Migration History en directeur onderzoek van het IISH, is op 18 februari 2017 benoemd tot lid van de Koninklijke Hollandse Maatschappij der Wetenschappen (KHMW).
