Free HPV vaccination without appointment at Plexus returns

10 November 2023

HPV vaccination without appointment

HPV vaccination protects you against cancer of the mouth, throat, anus, penis, vagina, labia and cervix. Were you born between 1996 and 2003 and are you not yet (fully) vaccinated against HPV? You can get vaccinated for free - this year only. This also applies to international students.

Eight out of ten people will get infected with HPV at some point in their lives. You can get the virus from having sex with someone who is infected, and also via the hands, skin and mouth. HPV can cause cancer in both women and men. If you are already sexually active, it still makes sense to get vaccinated as it will protect you against possible future infections.

Get your HPV protection as soon as possible

From June 1, 2024 onwards, the HPV vaccination will not be free anymore for young adults. This means that, if you get your first vaccination after 2023, your second jab will not be free due to the five month invterval. This will cost you more than €200 per jab. Therefore, do not postpone getting your HPV vaccination any longer.

Another reason to get vaccinated this year: vaccination locations will get far less common after June 1, 2024. There is a significant chance you will have to travel much further for your protection against HPV next year.
