Theoretical East Asian Linguistics (TEAL 16)

Date
Thursday 10 June 2027 - Saturday 12 June 2027
Address
TBA

The Workshop on Theoretical East Asian Linguistics (TEAL) was first launched in 1990 by the Department of Linguistics at the University of California, Irvine, as a mid-sized workshop intended to promote research in East Asian linguistics. Since 2002, the TEAL Workshop has become an important international forum for presenting new theories and exchanging novel ideas concerning East Asian languages and their implications for linguistic theory.

Invited speakers

Call for Papers

We invite abstracts for 20-minute talks (plus 10 minutes for discussion) and posters on any theoretical or formal aspect of East Asian and Southeast Asian languages, including but not limited to syntax, semantics, phonology, morphology, language acquisition, and psycholinguistics. We particularly welcome work that addresses broader questions in linguistic theory based on evidence from East Asian and Southeast Asian languages.
