Poetry workshop II: Creative Process and Voice

Tuesday from 19:00-21:00 h (plus homework assignments)

Docent
Helena Grande

For whom
Participants who have already taken the Poetry Workshop with Helena.

Content
This workshop aims to provide continuity for participants who have completed the Poetry Workshop course and wish to delve deeper into their creative process, find their voice, and develop their own poetry collection. The class takes a purely practical approach with close readings and longer in-depth feedback sessions.

Participants will work on a theme and/or poetry form of their choice and receive the guidance and tools necessary to develop it. Throughout the course, you will engage with their own writing by crafting and revising your poems. You will continue receiving constructive feedback aimed at helping refine your voices and consider new approaches.

With an emphasis on practice, commitment, and the enthusiasm to continue writing, you will learn the phases of your creative process and how to cultivate your writing practice beyond the class. The workshop will also address various ways of sharing your work, including self-publishing, public readings, entering contests, or using online platforms.

The workshop will adapt to the participants' needs, and some class content (such as readings and prompts) will be decided collectively.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Receive constructive feedback.
  • Get new writing prompts and participate in group activities.|Continue exploring the form and elements of poetry.
  • Receive guidance on developing your own poetry collection.
  • Grow in confidence and expand your skills.
  • Be part of a supportive community of poets.
