This scholarship is available to those selected for participation in the Harting program or the Leiden University.

Each academic year, one or two full scholarships are awarded to recent graduates of Central European University (CEU) who wish to follow a 1-year master's programme at Leiden University.

The Children’s Rights Scholarship 1 is intended for students who wish to follow the Master of Laws Advanced Studies programme in International Children’s Rights and meet all criteria for admission.

The China Scholarship Council (CSC) offers several scholarship programmes for prospective PhD candidates. Chinese Master students are welcome to pursue a PhD degree at Leiden University (including the Leiden University Medical Centre) and are advised to apply for a CSC scholarship through the general channel in the 2026 application round.

You can apply for an Erasmus+ study grant if you are a Bachelor/Master student and want to follow part of your study programme in a European country at a partner university.

For Leiden University teaching staff, who want to carry out a teaching assignment (seminars, lectures and/or tutorials) at a European partner university.

You can apply for an Erasmus+ traineeship grant if you are a Bachelor/Master student and want to do a traineeship or conduct research at a partner university, organisation or enterprise in Europe.

Leiden University currently does not offer the option of applying for an Erasmus+ grant for Traineeships after Graduation.

For Leiden University staff members, who want to undertake training at a European partner university or another relevant organisation.

The Ferial Chummun Scholarship is intended for female Portuguese students who wish to obtain their master’s (MSc) degree in Astronomy at the University of Leiden and meet all criteria for admission.

The Kuiper-Overpelt Study Fund is a scholarship programme for talented students from developing countries who wish to follow the Master of Laws Advanced Studies programme in International Children’s Rights and meet all criteria for admission.

The LDE GMD Seed Fund provides funding for migration and diversity-related research, events and community projects that stimulate interdisciplinary collaboration and interuniversity engagement. Funding is available for individual and teams of master's students, PhD candidates and researchers.

For excellent students joining a full-time Leiden University Master's degree programme - with the exception of LLM (non-advanced) and MSc programmes at Leiden Law School.

Leiden University College (LUC) offers financial support to a limited number of students who may otherwise not be able to attend. Both enrolled students and future students of LUC can request financial support.
