Education administration office

Every faculty and some study programmes have an education administration office where you can request information about schedules, transcripts, grades and other academic results.

Educational Service Centre (OSC)

The Educational Service Centre (OSC) of the Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs oversees the student and course administration and the faculty-level support for all educational administration and content systems at our faculty. The OSC is also responsible for organising all education-related processes, upholding the rules and regulations, and providing students and teachers with all relevant information.

Main activities

The OSC Student Desk at the Wijnhaven building is open Monday to Thursday between 10.00 and 12.00h. At the moment, we can also by contacted by phone via 070 800 9488 and you can always contact us by e-mail: osc.fgga@fgga.leidenuniv.nl.

It is advisable to send in your questions via e-mail. This will give us the opportunity to access your student file or other necessary information and provide you with the correct answer to your question. Please always mention your name, surname, student number and study programme in your e-mail. We will do our best to answer your question/request within a few working days.

Grade registration and management

As course administration, the OSC oversees monitoring the study progress and the registration of the final grades, internships, and theses in uSis. Please contact us if you think your grades have not been registered properly.

We provide grade lists and transcripts on request.

Exam administration, including issuing diplomas

The OSC monitors the study programme for each individual student and verifies the results before issuing a diploma or diploma supplement. We kindly ask students to also to check their study results in uSis before applying for a diploma in order to save both you and us a lot of time.

Scheduling

The people in charge of scheduling at OSC arrange the timetables for all the study programmes at our faculty in collaboration with the General Services Department (UFB). The classrooms at the university buildings in The Hague are used by multiple faculties. Please send us an e-mail if you have questions about your schedule or the seminars.

Exam administration and logistics

The OSC is responsible for organising the exams at different locations throughout The Hague. These locations can be our own university buildings but also other venues such as Zalencentrum Opera or De Broodfabriek.

The exam coordinators handle the logistics of the exams, the supervisors, and try to support teachers and students wherever possible by providing specific attention to students in need of additional facilities.

Evaluation process

Students at FGGA are currently asked to evaluate each course and answer several standard questions. The OSC is also responsible for handling the entire evaluation process.

Leiden University uses several education systems and applications: uSis for the registration of grades and diplomas, the scheduling programmes Term Time and My Timetable, the E-Study Guide for information on the study programmes, My Studymap for planning and registration, and Brightspace for teachers and the courses themselves. If you have a problem, we have several FAQ websites and helpdesks (links) available to assist you. At OSC we use these systems to support the study programmes, students, and teachers at FGGA. For content-related questions you can contact us via: osc.fgga@fgga.leidenuniv.nl.
