Hoe ‘slapende’ micro-organismen het lot van hun soort kunnen bepalen
Micro-organismen die tijdelijk ‘in slaap vallen’ spelen een belangrijke rol bij de evolutie en het voortbestaan van de populatie waar ze deel van uitmaken. Wiskundige Shubhamoy Nandan deed onderzoek naar die ‘sluimerstand’ bij micro-organismen op basis van een vernieuwend wiskundig model.
