Thesis kick-off
Have you just started working on your bachelor's or master's thesis? Then sign up for the thesis kick-off of the Writing Lab. In two workshops you will learn tips and strategies to get you going!
What?
During the thesis kick-off you will follow two workshops to help you get started with your thesis. The two workshops are as follows:

- Writing a thesis: an efficient planning and structure
For whom?
Students of the Faculty of Humanities who just started working on their bachelor's or master's thesis.
When and where?
You follow both workshops of the thesis kick-off either in Leiden or The Hague. The workshop dates and registration form are included below.
Semester 1 (2026/27)
A jump start to your thesis!
In this workshop you will work on the building blocks of your thesis. Are the expectations from your supervisor clear? Is your subject clearly defined and is your research question correctly formulated? How are the components of your research linked? Under the guidance of a Writing Lab coach, you will search for the answers to these questions and make a start with your research design. This will give you an idea of how your research fits together and which questions you still need to answer.

Writing a thesis: an efficient planning and structure
A large assignment like a thesis can be quite overwhelming. How do you make sure you hand in your thesis on schedule and have enough time left for other activities? In this workshop you will work on planning your research. Under the guidance of a Writing Lab coach, you will explore how to divide your writing process into smaller, manageable tasks.
