Work in and around the LMUY building and Ketelhuis
In week 40, starting on 28 September, preparations will begin for the asbestos removal work in the LMUY building. This is the first step in the project to make the building suitable for future reuse.
These works mark an important step towards the future development and reuse of the building. During the asbestos removal, the interior of the building will be made completely asbestos-free. The exterior of the building will remain in place for the time being.
The preparations and subsequent asbestos removal are expected to take approximately one year.
Work next to the Ketelhuis
In addition, work will be carried out at Ketelhuis. Commissioned by Liander, Qirion is replacing the transformer in the electricity substation at Ketelhuis on Wassenaarseweg. This requires some building work.
The road between SRON and the Ketelhuis will be closed from 14 September up to and including 7 October (see map). The closure and the work have already been announced with signs on site.
